Reaffirming the reliability of air freight and overcoming the challenges of the pandemic, DACHSER created reliable air freight capacity for its customers in Latin America. DACHSER builds on already established routes, thus ensuring the transportation of the goods. Consolidated services provide clients with a cost-effective method of transportation, combined with protected capacity, and reliable schedules – enabling customers to accurately plan their supply chains.

With the increase in air freight demand and the lack of available market space in the same proportion, DACHSER is looking for transport solutions which meet the needs of its customers. This is why we add more destinations to our existing Consolidated service, from Guarulhos (GRU) and Campinas (VCP)

João Caldana, Managing Director at DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics Brazil.

According to ANAC (acronym in Portuguese for the National Civil Aviation Association), air freight has been growing gradually in Brazil over the last decade. As reported by IATA (International Air Transport Association), the first half of 2021 showed an 8% growth in air cargo transport compared to the pre-Covid-19 period with the highest volumes since 2017.

However, due to the pandemic, the number of passenger flights decreased and, consequently, the space available for air cargo was also reduced.

The air cargo sector has been recovering

The air cargo sector, however, has been recovering since the second half of 2020 – with more products to be transported, but still with very limited available space. This reinforces the need to contract companies that have great expertise and reliability in the matter, such as DACHSER.

“The consolidated routes are the result of a lot of effort from our air transport team. Thanks to the close relationship with customers and an in-depth study of the market, it is possible to develop efficient services to meet the needs of companies that rely on DACHSER's expertise”, concludes Caldana.
