DACHSER builds new location in Kassel

Logistics provider DACHSER has started construction on a new branch in Kassel, the economic center of northern Hesse. Located in the Lohfelden commercial zone, the new transit terminal for industrial goods with adjacent offices is due for completion by summer 2021. In the medium term, the new branch will create roughly 200 jobs.

DACHSER is planning zero-emission delivery areas in ten more cities

The DACHSER Emission-Free Delivery concept for city center deliveries, which started as a research and innovation project, has proven hugely successful. There are already twelve zero-local-emission city center delivery areas for non-chilled goods in the DACHSER network at present, and further growth is planned: at least ten more major European cities are set to follow by 2025.

It’s not often that logistics topics feature as prominently in the daily and business press as they have over the past few months. The global economy is recovering from the shock of the pandemic and in many places production is once again running at full speed. However, articles about the shortfall in raw materials and products, too few containers and pallets, the driver shortage, and a lack of storage space on overland, sea, and air transports are putting a damper on this revival.
