DACHSER growing in Asia and North America

Investments in India, Thailand and the USA

Continuing along its trajectory of growth, DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics has invested in the expansion of its air and sea freight capabilities in three locations.

Bangkok´s Suvarnabhumi airport is one of the largest airports in Asia.

In East India’s Kolkata, DACHSER has moved into a larger space in the Salt Lake City IT hub in order to meet the growing demand for air and sea freight and also for customs clearance services. Shipments to the neighboring countries of Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Nepal are also being offered. DACHSER has had a presence in West Bengal—the fourth-most populous state in India with 91 million inhabitants—for over 30 years now, serving mostly industrial customers. West Bengal’s economy relies heavily on chemical and fertilizer manufacturers as well as the production of natural products such as tea and jute. In total, DACHSER currently maintains a network of 25 offices in India.

For its air freight services, including freight handling, customs clearance, pick-up, and distribution, DACHSER has opened its own office at the Bangkok- Suvarnabhumi airport in Thailand. The logistics provider now has three locations in the Bangkok Metropolitan Area. DACHSER Thailand recently expanded its sea freight office at the deep-sea harbor of Laem Chabang.

DACHSER USA

DACHSER USA is also on track to meet its growth target of 25 locations by 2020, opening a new branch in Baltimore, its third office in the Northeast region of the United States. The Port of Baltimore is one of the largest container ports in the USA, handling around 10 million tons of freight each year. The port plays an important role for the US automotive industry and calls itself the gateway to the Midwest—a region in which DACHSER, with its office and warehouse in Chicago and offices in St. Louis and Minneapolis, has seen especially strong growth lately.

“We are constantly investing in our worldwide air and sea freight network and expanding capacity at our local air and sea freight locations,” explains Thomas Reuter, Chief Operations Officer Air & Sea Logistics at DACHSER. “Only then can our global growth go hand in hand with our consistently high quality standards.”
