Shanghai - Jul 20, 2007 - Dachser Far East Ltd., the regional head office of one of Germany´s top three logistics service providers, has today opened its first Dachser-run warehouse located in Shanghai to provide contract logistics services to customers.
The company has also set up its second Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprise, based in Shenzhen (Dachser Shenzhen Co. Ltd.), following its first WFOE (Dachser Shanghai Co. Ltd.) announced last September.
“These latest announcements are part of Dachser’s continued investment in China,” said Thomas Reuter, managing director of Dachser Air & Sea Logistics, today at the official opening of the warehouse, located in the Boshan district, about an hour from Shanghai city centre.
“Asia, in particular Greater China, is a key area of fast growth for Dachser, and a strong focus is being placed on this region in the company’s blueprint of investment for growth. The company has set aside Euro1 billion worldwide for our ambitious investment programme and today’s new 3,000 square metre warehouse is a demonstration of that commitment on investing in China for future growth,” added Reuter.
Contract logistics services provide a total integration of all logistical functions such as storage, stock movements, inventory management, pick & pack and value added services as well as transportation (domestic & overseas), giving customers the flexibility to tailor-make solutions that suit their business operations and requirements in the supply chain process.
